Brady has agreed to a new deal with the New England Patriots worth a generous $18 million per year for the next four years, it was announced Thursday evening.

Thursday was a chaotic day for the quarterback, which began with an early morning collision in the Back Bay area of Boston. Brady’s Audi Sedan was struck by a minivan as it ran a red light. The NFL star emerged unscathed from the accident, but a passenger of the other vehicle was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital via ambulance.

Brady was then spotted yesterday afternoon in Gillette stadium during the Patriots training session. The deal was announced later that evening at halftime during the NFL opener between the Vikings and Saints in New Orleans. Brady has yet to comment on his new deal.

Brady signed the four year contract extension Friday morning. Brady (33), who is married to supermodel Gisele has said he want to continue his career in football until his forties. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Brady expressed his love for the game.

"I think we're fortunate to get paid for something that we love, there's no better job in the world that I'd rather have, to do what I'm doing. That's why I want to do it for a long time. Everything else in my life pales in comparison to how much I love this."

The Patriots take on the Cincinnati Bengals at on Sunday for the season opener.
