Boxer John Duddy rules out return to Ireland

John Duddy has ruled out a return to Ireland after his loss against Julio Chavez junior.

There have been suggestions he might return to fight for a British or European title but he says it is not on the cards.

"When I've fought back in Ireland, the fights have been successes for me personally, but no one in the States knew they had happened, they thought I had fallen off the planet," he said.

"If you get beaten in America, the whole world knows you've been beaten, and if you win in America, the whole world knows you've won."

It is believed there is money available for a fight against Matthew Macklin or Andy Lee, but Duddy has now firmly ruled that out.
