Leinster boss Michael Cheika has made 12 changes in personnel for Friday’s Magners League trip to Murrayfield to take on Edinburgh.

Captain Leo Cullen, Gordon D’Arcy and Isa Nacewa are the only survivors from the starting XV which lined out against Harlequins in the Heineken Cup quarter-finals last weekend.

Cullen starts alongside Trevor Hogan in the second row, while D’Arcy is partnered by Fergus McFadden in midfield. Brian O’Driscoll has been given the weekend off.

The versatile Nacewa started on the right wing at The Stoop, but he will wear number ten against Edinburgh.

Nacewa will be joined in the half-backs by Chris Keane, who comes into the side for the rested Chris Whitaker.

Shane Horgan fills the void left by Nacewa on the right wing, while Girvan Dempsey returns at full-back and  Simon Keogh earns a start on the left wing.

In the pack, Ronan McCormack, John Fogarty and Stephen Knoop form a brand new front row.

The back row has also been completely revamped, with Cameron Jowitt, Sean O’Brien and Stephen Keogh all returning.
