“Sometimes that means you have to be hard on some guys. This third year was a year where you knew our guys knew exactly what was expected, and it allowed me to spend more time with my players and build those relationships that are so important to having great morale.”

Notre Dame players now know where they stand with Kelly, a man who pays attention to detail.

Receiver John Goodman said: “When guys wouldn’t do the right thing - and there was a lot of the wrong thing being done by us the first couple of years - if he didn’t like it, then he’d yell or something.

“A lot of these guys on our team don’t take that as constructive criticism. It’s more, ‘Oh, this guy doesn’t like me, why he is yelling at me?’ And they’ll go out and do something wrong again. When you approach guys positively, like he’s doing now, then they take it a lot better.”

Center Braxston Cave said: “The biggest thing is we know he cares about every single guy.”

Hamilton wrote: “When Kelly arrived at Notre Dame, he told his new players that he had been where they wanted to go. He asked them to stick to the plan, and he would show them the way.

“Here they are, in a place none of them ever have been, at the virtual Hillary Step of their ascent. Brian Kelly has everything he needs to win, and he’s winning, and winning just one more gilds this journey. Everyone is positive about that.”

Kelly told him: “They would tell you from Day 1 they were pretty clear on what the mission was. As you develop closer relationships with your players, they start to go, ‘Oh, I now know what you were talking about.’ I think we’re at that point now.”

Undefeated and on the way to a championship. Held the lead the entire game against USC and held on to win it. Coach Kelly is the man.
WOW is right Murph46. Notre Dame will be playing for the national championship. Where will Ohio State be playing? Oh, that's right OSU IS INELIGIBLE! And, again I say that you are so anti ND because you couldn't get in nor could your kids get in. Pair their winning season with the highest graduation rate in the country and you come up with a great team. A winning team without that graduation rate isn't a great team.
OH WOW,Mea Culpa- ND beat a team that is was rated #1 in preseason, who lost 4 games, who is currently unranked, with a backup QB.A game finally decided with two minutes left in the game.Pray for help against the Tide! You will get rolled
Murph isn't an Alabama fan,my Buck's (that is THE Ohio State to you glitter domers went 12-0!And as usual I run into a fan who talks big ,but won't put up (I'll even donate my winnings to your favorite charity chump.
MAD
Murph46, are you still made that your illustrious Bear Bryant could not beat Notre Dame In four tries? And you can take your 10 points gambling crap and.....
ND has done everything right. Played a top schedule. Played each game without looking ahead to the next. Finally, beating Southern Cal will crown our season. What a way to end the 2012 regular season. Keep it up Kelly, Heads down, WE ARE ND!
Niall playing the fool as if he can't figure so many other incidents. You paid for that Iron Dome and there's more where that came from - sammies, no pleasing of lucifer.
Lotused- You go on livin in your dream world,I will give you 10 points against Alabama for whatever you want.Put up or shut up!
Lets Pretend that Notre Dame plays Alabama or Oregon and wins. I know that it would never happen because NYCsheridan And Murph46 said so. What will It be, that fumble that ND recovered was not a fumble? That interception hit the ground first so it was not an interception. Must be some reason ND pulled it off. Must be some other reason ND won that I didn't think of. Must be ton of reasons If ND wins however, I’m wasting my time because ND would get beat. NYCsheridan and Murph46 said so. Maybe ND will get beat by USC. That will make everyone happy. Then all of this is a waste of time.
It's grand to see the Fighting Irish football team playing well and winning, but even more important to the good fathers of the Congregation of the Holy Cross is that the student athletes at the University of Notre Dame have the highest graduation rate in the nation. Those who play like cmampions today on the football field, will be the leaders of the world tomorrow. The knowledge learned and the values instilled in South Bend, Indiana will be with them long after they hang up their cleets, and the world will be a better place for it. Associate Justice Alan Page of the Minnesota Supreme Court will be chearing for his Alma Mater today, and so will Nevada State Prison inmate O.J. Simpson!
Alabama or Oregon would beat them.
Celebrate now! Sooner or later you will have to pay the piper and play Alabama!
