If the social welfare rates are supposedly generous in Ireland, I expect it's to keep unemployed Irish workers quiescent while the Govt is paid EU grants to turn the country into one big FÁS training agency for for immigrant workers from Africa/China/Sth America. And one big TEFL language laboratory to boot.
A player on a US Football (American Football) team has just been signed for a $50 million contract. These players and coaches salaries are ridiculous.
Heroes my arse ! Overpaid sissies ,we had pictures of Given nursing a knee all week . If the lads in Thomond Park or Semple Stadium met these " heroes " for 10 minutes there would be a chain of ambulances all the way to Tallaght . The social welfare in Ireland is the best in Europe hence these guys can take off for weeks ,and leave the collection of the dole to their " partners " .The cleverest Irish team are its Italian entourage (3) ,all of whom collect substantial millionaire salaries from a gobshite FAI . The travelling media talk about the boost to morale all this gives the nation ! I am offended by this ,and would state that the opposite is the case . I hope Croatia win ,and shut up the moronic chants of the teams social welfare followers .
It will all be fun and games until they start their usual IRA sectarian bigoted digusting singing. Maybe they will start singing songs in support for the Taliban. Afterall, it's the IRA (Friends of America) that helped train the Taliban bombmakers.
"heroes"? Please. I can think of lots of heroes in Ireland, but to attach that term to footballers is preposterous. Have some sense.
Here we go Irish. Here we go! A Nation Once again. Hopefully, the lads will respond well and score some goals. The defense is great but the O needs to follow the "Heart of the Lion", Robbie Boy.
