The medal haul currently stands at 13, as our superb team Ireland continue to outcompete some of the biggest nations in the world on the way to Paralympic glory. Furthermore, six of the 13 medals won so far have been gold, with team Ireland being one of London’s most successful competing nations.

Mark Rohan is the very latest Irish athlete to take gold on day seven of the games, as he captured the hand cycling time trial yesterday.

In what was indeed a very special day for Irish sport, paralympic team Ireland captured a remarkable three gold medals in one day in the road cycling event with Rohan storming to success in the individual H1 time trial with a time of 35: 41: 54.

Earlier in the day, James Brown and Damien Shaw won bronze in the individual B time trial and Catherine Walsh and Fran Meehan also repeated this success in their respective women’s event.
