Ireland defeated Italy in Dublin yesterday in a one-sided game in Croke Park that Ireland dominated throughout.

After playing a brilliant first half, the home team fizzled out in the second but managed to stay ahead. Ireland led 23-8 at half time and 26-8 early in the second half.

Ronan O'Gara was in outstanding kicking form, and a great try by Jamie Heaslip set the stage for the Irish victory.

So it was victory for Ireland,  with a score of  29 to Italy’s 11.

My word. This really is like an emission from Pravda in the 1950s. Tractor production is up! The glorious leader cheered by massed crowds! Stunning rugby victory for the green army! Stunning? Every single commentator I have read has said that Ireland were hugely disappointing and the game was a big dull dud. I agree. Play like that in a few weeks time and they'll be eaten alive by France. Please explain your use of the word "stunning"?
Hell!!!!!!!!! where did yeese get the impression that this game was STUNNING??? Ireland will have to improve their play to beat France next week
