Sports Digest: New Irish rugby players prepare for the RBS Six Nations
Both Irish players were linked with deadline day moves away from McCarthy’s Wolves on Tuesday.
Everton and Blackburn were both rumored to be interested in Doyle while Celtic were said to be considering an offer for Hunt.
McCarthy was in no mood to sell either player, however, when he spoke before the transfer window closed in England at midnight on Tuesday.
He said, “Whether there is interest or there isn’t interest in Kevin, it doesn’t matter because he is going nowhere. I would really be crackers to sell Doyle or Stephen Hunt. I’m not crackers.”
