Sports Digest: Padraig Harrington says Rory McIlroy should be British for 2016 Olympics

The North has produced 3 world-beaters in the sport of Golf i.e Rory, Darren and Graeme. It seems that Padraig is recommending the "British" option for these particular golfers, as a way of removing northern competition for places on an all-Ireland team. In contrast to the powerhouse that the northern part of Ireland is becoming in golfing terms, the Republic of Ireland seems to be producing little in the way of major tournament winners. Maybe Padraig should be reminded that Ireland does not stop at Sligo, Clontibret or Dundalk.

Thats the great thing about being from the North. You can represent whoever you want.
