Speculation builds around Aussie Rules return for Tadhg Kennelly

Tadhg Kennelly returns to Australia next week to promote his autobiography amid further speculation that his future may lie in the red guernsey of the Sydney Swans, as opposed to the green and gold jersey of Kerry.

According to the Irish Examiner, Kennelly has told friends that he will not be playing with Kerry next year. The 28-year-old returned from a hugely successful Aussie Rules career with the Sydney Swans and emulated his father and brother by winning an All Ireland medal.

However after initially committing to staying with the Kerry panel for next year, the controversy surrounding his autobiography, where he said his hit on Cork's Nicholas Murphy in the All Ireland final was premeditated (see link above) may have swayed his mind.  

Though he has since come out and apologized, saying that he did not go out to hurt the player, the fact that he has already achieved his goal must weigh on his mind. Also, he still has the fitness to perform professionally in Australia, and the chance of a big pay day may be enough to lure him back to Aussie Rules.

The Swans do not have to register their final roster for next year until December 2.
