Rory McIlroy to tee off with Ernie Els and Rickie Fowler at British Open
Bookies back McIlroy to break records once again at Sandwich, Kent
Rory McIlroy, the runaway winner of the US Open, will team up with 2002 British Open champion, Ernie Els and American, Rickie Fowler for the British Open this week.
Reports of who McIlroy will tee off with come just days before the event which will kick off on Thursday.
In the past month McIlroy has come under criticism as he has not played competitively since his record breaking victory as the youngest person to win the US Open (22-years-old) in 88 years.
However McIlroy is still the bookies favorite to win the event. If he does walk away with the trophy he will be the youngest player to do so since 1893.
The Irish Times has reported that Mclroy and Darren Clarke will start at 12.59pm on Thursday while Padraig Harrington and Graeme McDowell will start at 1.21pm and 1.42 respectively.
