Washington Redskins’ FedEx Field looking forward to sell out event
The Notre Dame is set to play Navy, at Washington Redskins’ FedEx Field in Landover.
The Fighting Irish and the Midshipmen last played this pitch in 1998. The last Navy game played at the stadium was the Army v Navy game in 2011 which ended as a 27-21 victory to the Mids.
Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk said “FedEx Field did a fine job of hosting the Army-Navy game and we are looking forward to another sold out event in 2014.”
Mitch Gershman, the Redskins’ chief marketing officer “The Navy and Notre Dame game highlights two outstanding collegiate programs.
“We are excited to welcome both teams back to FedExField and are looking forward to hosting one of the most competitive and nationally acclaimed matchups in the country.”
The Navy-Notre Dame rivalry is played in South Bend, Indiana, on odd years.
Last year the Midshipmen lost to the Fighting Irish at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
