Notre Dame interviews Brian Kelly tomorrow, but the deal is done

Like I have been saying for days!

Brian Kelly will be the next Notre Dame head coach, a source told IrishCentral

Brian Kelly will interview with Notre Dame tomorrow in New York.

ESPN is reporting the big interview — but as I have said on IrishCentral.com before anyone else reported it — the deal is done with Brian Kelly.

He will be the new football coach at Notre Dame.

The Kelly pursuit actually began — as I have said — right after the loss to USC, when it became evident to key Notre Dame officials and supporters that Weis was not able to win against a big team.

Since then, Kelly has been the only one in their sights.

His price has gone up since the last second victory against Pittsburgh, but the reality remains the same. Kelly was picked out by Notre Dame at least six weeks ago. He is the their No. 1 pick and they will be very aggressive in trying to get him.

In fact, I think they probably already have.

Tomorrow's meeting may be no more than a formality, and the interview with Jim Harbaugh of Stanford was never going to go anywhere.

Sean really man? Harbaugh has no meeting planned. Kelly didnt interview with ND tuesday and Coach Randy Rdsall is also one of atleast two canidates right now!
Kelly was not the only one in their sights. Jack Swarbrick has screwed up this search royally. Where do you get your information? He's not even the only candidate that they are still planning to interview. The fact that Jim Harbaugh is even mentioned shows how badly ND has botched this search. While I agree that, sadly, Kelly will likely be the next coach...it is only because Swarbrick has failed miserably. Kelly is the easy choice because idiots like you mimic ESPN and the moronic Chicagoland media(Brian Hamilton for example) I hope he succeeds, if hired, but his resume' is seriously lacking key ingredients that have been common among the legendary coaches at ND. He has not served as an assistant under any legendary college head coaches, he has never served on a coaching staff at an elite football program (Top ten programs such as USC, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, etc.) and has zero experience recruiting blue chip players while going up against the likes of Urban Meyer, Bob Stoops, Nick Saban or Pete Carroll. His defense stinks as does his offense. (Using the shotgun at the goal line is pathetic.) He is a major gamble at best. If this is the best that ND can do, they may as well have retained Charlie and saved the buyout $. BTW, don't underestimate the ability of the leadership at ND to screw this up further...it ain't over yet.
