John O'Shea is set to become Ireland's top paid footballer after his 11 years of tenure with Manchester United. The Waterford man is set to be offered a contract worth $127,230 a week with the Old Trafford Club.

If O'Shea signs the deal he could potentially earn £16.5 million over four years which will guarantee his progression onto the footballers rich list.

The future looks bright for O'Shea with the Old Trafford club who has been with the English team for over a decade. He has won four Premier League medals and  tasted Champions League, FA Cup and Carling Cup joy.

The generous wage packet would see the 29-year-old overtake Richard Dunne, Stephen Ireland and Robbie Keane who are earning weekly wages in the range of $95,428 and $111,333.

After stints in centre-midfield and left-back, O’Shea is now almost always a fist choice for the right-back defender position.

Unlike other Irish players O'Shea hasn’t had to move from club to club to increase his earnings. Instead he put the work in with United and won the trust of Sir Alex Ferguson as a result.

possibly Irelands best player at the moment.
John appears to be steady Eddy on the pitch as Alex F appreciates. Not given to crazy ranting like some we learn about.
JOS has 67 caps & counting for Ireland. IF you are reffering about Stephen Ireland not playing for his country, he was a former Man. City player now with Aston Villa.
Is O'Shea another Man U guy that wont play for his own country??
