A hundred thousand thanks, both Notra Dame and Old Navy, for injecting my home town (Baile Átha Clíath/Dublin) with an absolutely electric athmosphere. It caused me to remember my early education when we were taught of how the early Anglo-Norman settlers in Ireland became "... more Irish than the Irish themselves." Yep! You've made the right connection. All Irish-Americans are definately more Irish than the Irish themselves, since the Irish themselves, (particularly more Angliciced/Europeanised younger generations), no longer know what it is to be Irish. Come on the Irish! Come on the Americans! Come on the Irish-Americans! Come on the American-Irish!
