Leinster book Heineken Cup final date with local rivals Ulster after win in France
All roads lead to Twickenham for All-Ireland final
Leinster will meet Ulster in an All-Ireland Heineken Cup final in London on May 19th.
Joe Schmidt’s Leinster side booked their derby date thanks to a nail biting 19-15 win over Clermont-Auvergne in Bordeaux on Sunday.
They will not meet an Ulster team still celebrating Saturday’s Dublin win over Edinburgh in the other semi-final.
“To be honest it was pretty intense out there. I think both teams made quite a few mistakes considering the quality of players out there,” said Leinster captain Leo Cullen after his team survived a late effort that almost produced a match winning try from their French efforts.
“I think a lot of it was to do with the pressure that was there as well. It was one of those games that could have gone either way.
“It goes to the TMO - sometimes you get them, sometimes you don’t. We got it there today and at the end of the day that’s the difference between the two teams.”
