Johnstownbridge teenager and Kildare Gaelic football minor star Paul Cribbin traveled to Australia last week for a trial with the Collingwood Aussie Rules Football club.
Cribbin has reportedly been impressive at his trials at the Lexus Center in Melbourne, where he joins fellow Irishman Martin Clarke of County Down in Magpie black and white.
The 6’3” forward has been a force to be reckoned with for Brian Murphy's Lilywhites in their recent victories over Wicklow and Wexford in the Leinster Minor football championship, and his pure talent captivated AFL recruiters.
Cribbin also played an important role for his school, St. Mary's, Edenderry, in their run to the All-Ireland Senior Colleges final earlier this year.
Cribbin and company defeated Good Counsel, New Ross to capture their first provincial title before going on to lose the Hogan Cup to Kerry side Colaiste na Sceilge.
The 17-year-old forward, who is still eligible for minor football next year, plans on returning to Ireland a week before Kildare's next championship match, the semi-final against Meath in Navan.
