Joanna Mills has decided not to appeal the yesterday's decision to exclude her from the Olympic Womens 4x4 relay team in the Olympics which kick off this week.

In a dramatic series of events, she was excluded from the squad after Cathriona Cuddihy successfully counter-appealed to the Olympic council of Ireland after they made the decision to include Mills in the squad.

The athlete tweeted that she is not going to appeal the decision although she felt she “had the grounds to win the appeal” and wished the relay team every success at London 2012.

Mills has in fact recorded better times than Cuddihy this season but the appeal board revealed yesterday in their statement that Cuddihy’s original selection was based on a variety of different criteria including experience at big competitions and this was eventually upheld to lead to her eventual inclusion.
