Brian Kelly will be Notre Dame coach by Friday of this week, sources tell IrishCentral.
It appears that the Cincinnati coach will not coach his Bearcats in the Sugar Bowl against Florida.
Though Kelly did not meet with Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick today in New York, he did not need to.
The deal was done last week before the Bearcats mauled Pittsburgh with a last-second victory to win the Big East.
Kelly has made it clear to Notre Dame that he wanted to wait until after Thursday night's annual banquet for the Bearcat players before publicly announcing the Notre Dame job.

KELLY WILL BE LOOKING FOR A JOB NEXT SEASON,BECAUSE IT TAKES MORE THAN A GOOD COACH TO MAKE A WINNING TEAM.U NEED GOOD PLAYERS AND A SCHOOL TO BACK THE TEAM AND ND HAS NEITHER ONE.KELLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN MAN ENOUGH TO GO ALL THE WAY TO THE END WITH UC.

Amazing that a school like Notre Dame doesn't teach students how to spell.....from the headline by Sean O'Shea....Kelly will not coach Cincinatti in the Sugar Bowl. It's spelled CINCINNATI......how embarrassing....

This article is hilarious! Where do you guys get your information? haha! He may or may not become the head coach of ND but he hasn't yet. I love when all the rumors get going. If he had said that he already made the deal then it would be all over ESPN. They are much bigger than this website so I'd believe their reports over these ridiculous articles!

raabye, "cincy" is a common abreviation or nickname in the Cincinnati area. And what source am I supposed to be naming? I said "if" he finalizes a deal with ND.

The ncaa rules every part of these kids life with regard to what they are allowed to do. How about a rule, stating other schools cannot speak with a coach until that team has completed all of there games including the bowl games. These kids sign to play for a coach that they believe will be there until the end. Yet the kid gets punished if the coach leaves for another program. My question would be, does brian kelly leave if Nebraska beats texas and UC was playing for the national championship. College football and basketball are starting to loose there purity and exitement as the coaches are now like CEO's of a business. They will typically leave at the drop of a hat. It my opinion, the schools should have very hefty buyouts if the coach leaves early. Good luck Brian Kelly one of the best two faced people that i have ever seen

JUST BECAUSE NOTRE DAME BUYS A COACH DOES NOT MEAN THEY CAN WIN GAMES.I THINK THE AD AT NOTRE DAME WAS WRONG BY TRYING TO HIRE BRIAN KELLY BEFORE UC'S SEASON WAS OVER.THOSE PLAYERS DESERVE TO HAVE THEIR COACH IN NEW ORLEANS WITH THEM.IF KELLY TAKES THAT JOB HE IS LESS OF A MAN THAN I THOUGHT HE WAS.MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING,SOUTH BEND IN IS A GHOST TOWN RIDDLED WITH CRIME,BUT KELLY WILL HAVE TO LEARN THE HARD WAY.
