The Irish Netball Team had a historic and comprehensive win over the USA in the World University Championships in Cape Town South Africa yesterday on a scoreline of 67 - 16 points. This result came after a disappointing loss to a strong and offensively dominant South African team on the first day of competition. Day 2 of the competition however had a much better outcome for the girls in green and this massive win against the US will hopefully stand them well for the rest of the competition.

The head-coach of the team is Elaine Rice and her team has had solid performances throughout the campaign by Gemma Gibney, Cathy McLean, Sinead Redmond, Laura Mason and Emma Doherty. Michelle Drayne, Caroline O Hanlon, Fionnuala Toner, Marie Toner, Sinead Smye, Oonagh McCullough and Frances Campbell are also valuable team members.

Here’s the fast paced game in good quality though this South African website:

I thought it would be volleyball, but it looks like basketball with no dribbling??
Followed the Olympics for half a century. Coached five different sports for lads and lassies, elementary thru secondary school, for nigh on to 25 years and have NEVER heard of "netball"! What in blazes is it. Oh... and congrats to the gals from Ireland!
Guys: Am I wrong here, or does this look like basketball using a soccer ball and our (US) women are 5'6???
