Munster's Alan Quinlan will learn his fate next Wednesday.

Munster forward Alan Quinlan will discover if his place on the British and Irish Lions' tour to South Africa is under threat next Wednesday.

Quinlan will appear in front of an independent Disciplinary Committee in Dublin on May 13, after being cited following an incident during Munster's Heineken Cup semi-final defeat to Leinster.

The committee will be chaired by Roger Morris of Wales, and will also comprise of Simon Thomas (Wales) and Mike Hamlin (England).

The citing was for alleged contact with Leinster's Leo Cullen in contravention of Law 10.4 (k), which relates to 'Acts contrary to good sportsmanship'.

The minimum punishment for a player found guilty of such a breach of the rules is a 12-week suspension, though in the recent past, players have received 18-week and 26-week bans for gouging offences.

The Lions squad will depart for South Africa in 17 days
