Groin injury rules Gibson out of World Cup Qualifier

Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson has been ruled out of The Republic of Ireland's World Cup Qualifier with Bulgaria on Saturday.

The 21-year-old tweaked his groin against Hull City during the final league fixture of the season, and the injury has not healed sufficiently for him to be able to take part in the crucial game in Sofia this weekend.

Robbie Keane and Shay Given took no part in training Tuesday,  but both are expected to shrug off their respective knocks to take part in the game against the Bulgarians.
