Golden recruits for Notre Dame following a strange and disappointing end to the season

More truth than fiction in saying ND can come close to competing with the SEC model, but not enough to win the national championship. Only a few schools can convince the few students who are equally talented in sports and academics. Stanford is doing the best job of that across the board, Duke is OK in basketball, Boston College in hockey, but after that it's either the Ivy League, or a semi-pro league like the SEC.

PhlutieHaterPhan, Notre Dame does not have a problem, you do. The Irish, under Coach Kelly, are right on schedule. Go somewhere else to spew that Jesuit-inspired envy. GO IRISH!

The problem with ND is that they do things the right way. Within the last week, four Bama players were arrested for armed robbery. Three of the four had significant playing time during the season. Actually, they have so many good players "who never go to class" that they don't need them. The NCAA "picks and chooses" just whom they will prosecute. The NCAA is in it for "show me the money" just like everyone else. Every so often, they trot out "the usual suspects" just to make it look like they are the enforcers.
