Ireland has a grand defense and a great playmaker. However, they just do not have that "big time scorer". Nil-nil three in a row to Slovakia, Russia, Croatia. Against the former Bolsheviks, they were outshot 18-2, corners 12-1. They cannot live on the edge. I like McGeady's foot. Walters is just too top heavy and not nimble enough around the goal. Keane will put the ball where it needs to be. However, someone has to be the finisher. Evidently, Roy Keane was that type of player. They need to find another pronto, Kemo Sabe.

Greece winning the Euros in 2004 is all that needs to be said. A team that didn't have any star players, won the championship by playing a well disciplined game. Ireland have a 1 in 16 chance to win. A chance is all you need
