W.B. Yeats captured it best. "At Galway Races"
There where the course is,
Delight makes all of the one mind,
The riders on the galloping horses,
The crowd that closes in behind:and it again
Crying aloud as the racecourse is,
And we find hearteners among men
That ride upon horses.

Experienced it twice while resident in Galway...have to do it again. Most American's would be shocked by ten yr olds making bets for Ma or Dad but it definetly gives them one up to American kids in understanding odds.

No James: Yeats didn't capture the fun spirit of Galway Race Week best, but you did!

Race week in Galway is one of the best weeks of the year.
Wish I could be there every year.
