Danica Patrick, the Sarah Palin of NASCAR?

Chris Meyers, the host of 'Inside NASCAR', which premiered on Showtime Wednesday night, said rookie sensation Danica Patrick could become "the Sarah Palin of NASCAR."

The weekly show also included a panel of three others who lead racing discussions - Michael Waltrip, Brad Daugherty and Randy Pemberton.

Last night's premier ran for an hour, profiled Patrick and questioned her about her ambition to become a successful NASCAR racer.

Myers asked the beauty when she thinks she'll be in Sprint Cup racing. Patrick's responded with "This is a 2-year situation now," and "I'm like a kid learning something new".

During his post interview discussion with the panel, Myers said Patrick could very well be "the Sarah Palin of NASCAR.”

c hris meyers ; why don't you just stick to running your mouth on sundays and sometimes on saturday nights about nascar and the race your payed to comment on off the telaprompter your looking at.NOT politics. because you don't know shite about nascar raceing. danica patrick drives a car for nascar on a track, sarah palin drives her self to talk politics on tv and conventions to sell what ever she is selling to america. i have been a nascar fan long before you were born, and never heard of any shite like this comparison . so boogdy..boogdy..boogdy lets go raceing and just announce the race.
Damned by faint praise. She's good-looking, but is she as stupid as a bowling ball?
I don't get the Danica/Sarah comparison at all.I can relate Danica to strong, skilled athletes, knowlegeable and smart in her chosen occupation. Palin? I compare her to any malleable, mis-guided politician who doesn't have much of any skill or smarts except blathering platitudes and lies.
How can you possibly compare Danica to Sarah?? At least Danica can drive. Sarah couldn't even finish one term as governor of a state whose population isn't as big as some cities.
Let's have her in the Sports Illustrated Swim Suit edition again-who cares if she can drive-we all know sex sells. The only reason she won one IRL race and led the Indy 500 for a few laps was pure fuel strategy by her team manager.
Wouldn't it be much better if Sarah Palin became the Danica Patrick of the Republican Party?
GO SARAH!!! uh... I mean GO DANICA!!!
This drives me nuts. Women cannot get coverage for what they do, it's what they 'are'. Among all the talk of the cost of Palin's clothes and her rotten kids, the things she actually did as governor got lost in the shuffle. No matter what you think about Palin, the coverage demeans her. Hillary C had the same problem for a long time. When's the last time the press focused on the voice or clothes of a male candidate? Same with Boyle. How many articles interview folks that know voice and discuss what he talents/skills are? Almost none. In Patrick's case, the truth of the matter is, she was a very good Indy driver. She has the numbers, so, folks should have been impressed but not surprised by her 7th place finish last weekend. She's a good driver, but the press rarely focused on that.
Chris Myers doesn't know which end of a hammer to get a hold on and he is Generally clueless. Why he is an automotive 'commentator' is beyond me. You can tell by looking at his hands he has never done a lick of work--mechanical or otherwise---in his life.
