Eoin please check out the dvd "emerald diamond".. Yes there is baseball in Ireland and very competive. And carrickcourt sorry you feel that way about baseball because IS most exciting if one is educated about the game.

Wonderful article about an Irish person "discovering" baseball. I used to follow baseball but despite some action on the field which can be very exciting the breaks in the action and the slow pace of the game drives me crazy. Baseball is great for commericals, which I hate. I have become soceer (real football)fan partly because of no commericals during a match. For USA sport fans the lack of scoring and draws at the end of match drives them crazy. Once one is educated about soceer it is a most exciting sport to watch.
