Celtic manager Neil Lennon is delighted American rapper Snoop Dogg has been linked with a role as a director of the Glasgow club – provided he gets an invite to one of the star’s parties.

Snoop Dogg was linked with an investment in Celtic after the Champions League win over Barcelona at Parkhead when he admitted he was impressed by the passion of the supporters.

The rap star said, “I want to bring a bit of Snoop to Celtic. The boxes at Celtic would never be the same once I have hosted a party there.”

Lennon observed, “It would be interesting if he did put money in. As long as I got invited to one of his parties, it would be okay.”

Snoop Dogg has previously been photographed wearing a Celtic strip. He said in the Sunday Mail, “I know Barcelona are a big deal, and it shows Celtic are a big deal as well.

“I see how passionate Celtic fans are about their team and I could see myself making an investment if any of the board wanted to sell.

“I don’t need to run a soccer club but enough of a percentage to get me on the board so I can be heard.”

Celtic prepared for their trip to Portugal with a 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

Lassad Nouioui and Charlie Mulgrew scored the goals for Celtic and Lennon said, “It was always going to be difficult. The pitch wasn’t conducive to playing quick football. The grass was long and heavy, and when we weighed up the conditions we went with a powerful team.

“It was a real test for the players today which they’ve come through very, very well. We missed two really good chances in the first half, and you start to wonder if the breakthrough will come.”

Lennon praised his goal scorers.  “I thought Lassad’s performance, for the 20 minutes he was on, was superb. He’s a great asset to have and hopefully he can keep injury-free,” he said.

“I said to Charlie that it’s very difficult for us not to pick him now. It wasn’t his best game, but he’s grown into an all-round footballer and I was delighted to see him get his goal.”

saraindc, what is it you don't care about, Celtics, Neil Lennon, Soccer??? Why don't you park yourself with something you care about instead of criticizing! Cead Mile Failte, Snoop!
Now there is a helluva aspiration!
And we care why!!!? this is not news we care about! feels like there is barrel scraping going on when articles like this appear as "news"! its like reality TV, no-one cares, its not news and its irrelevant in the bigger scheme of things (and no i didnt read the article, the heading was enough to put me off!)
Couldn't Neil Lennon, sans the "nail envelopes", be considered as coach of the Irish national squad? The next Irish qual game in in March. Germany and Sweden with four goal Zlatan will win out in the group. Trap will be eliminated after the two matches in March.
I would not exactly equate Snoop Dogg with Stan Kroenke in his love of sport.
