Brian Kelly sounds like Notre Dame could be on his mind


Brian Kelly sure sounds like he is heading for Notre Dame.

On Sunday night he told ESPN that "it has to be a unique circumstance" and an "incredible opportunity" for him to leave Cincinnati.

Sounds like Notre Dame to me. 

Notre Dame Head Coach is certainly "an incredible opportunity," arguably the most high profile coach in football — and I mean any kind of football.

Kelly says: "You certainly are always going to look at program relative to their tradition and history. That you don't have to go in and rebuild."

Sounds like Notre Dame. History and tradition? Notre Dame oozes it — too much of it many might say and it affects new coaches — but that is another story.

Kelly says: "You probably consider things, but the nice part about it is that I don't have to go out looking for anything at the University of Cincinnati."

Sounds like Notre Dame. I have been told they are already in contact.

Notice what he is not saying. "l am staying at Cincinnati period." There is no Shermanesque quote here like Bob Stoops at Oklahoma — who I predicted was never in the mix.

why wouldnt they. what has weis done with his own players. won the Hawaii bowl. come on change has to come and kelly is a great COLLEGE coach let me say this again, COLLEGE coach. Thats what the need. Not the Xs and Os for a head coach, eh em weis. I mean seriously compare notre dame and Cincinnati's facilities. Its like comparing a double wide to a mansion. all big time coaches were not stolen but just sought after better opportunity's. You gotta start somewhere. If you havent noticed NDs D hasnt exactly been amazing and Kelly is the guy to restore the D and the program back to BCS contenders.

You know if NOTRE DAME could go out and find a coach besides every few years stealing someones elses coach then they might also be able to go out and find quality players but instead they do what no other school do'es they just write ahuge contract with lots of money then when he has a couple of bad seasons they fire him and start the process over ND is not the school it was 20 yrs. ago - now its a joke
