Brian Kelly was approached by ND last December(2208,that is)about whether he would be interested in the position if it become available. He told them "NO, not at this time". Brian Kelly was the only one considered to replace Weis; any other names like Stoops, Meyer or Ferentz were a smokescreen by the ND PR machine to throw the media dogs off the scent of Kelly, who didn't want to announce his decision till after the Pitt game.

Sean O' Shea you called it right. Brian Kelly the next ND coach. It even sounds IRISH. All ND fans should let Brian Kelly do his thing, as a COLLEGE FOOTBALL COACH. Look what he did for Cincinnati from a no WIN team to 34-6 in three seasons, back to back Big East titles and two straight BCS berths. Let Brian Kelly COACH and RECURIT for NOTRE DAME and hopefully bring back the GLORY and wake up the echoes and shake down the thunder and bring NOTRE DAME back to BCS bowl games and a NATIONAL TITLE.

I thought you made a pronouncement stating that It's Official! Brian Kelly WILL coach Notre Dame. Why are you backpedalling now? Could it be that you really don't have any reliable sources? Nah!

Wow. It must have been really cool for you to sit through- first hand- the coaching search and the contract negotiations to hire BK. I feel so grateful to have found the one guy who was so intimately involved in all of this. Great writing!

I still think Sean O'Shea has a woody for Coach Kelly and is wishing it comes true. Sean for real man, You write for a small website, do you really think we believe you or your "sources"?

I think Notre Dame has a proven track record of screwing up this new football coach thing. I still have my "I love Ty" t-shirt. Brian Kelly will bring his own baggage to South Bend that will impede him. I couldn't help but notice his players jawing at him on the sideline during Cincy's game with Pitt last Saturday. Not a good sign. He's just another opportunistic coach looking for a big payday. And ND is so desperate to be back in the thick of things it will sell it's very soul to try to get there. Good luck!
