Athlon sports has reported a very optimistic forecast for the upcoming season regarding the Notre Dame team, ranking the Fighting Irish number six in its 2011 preseason poll.
Two Notre Dame players made All-America status in Athlon’s college football annual: the junior linebacker Manti Te’o and suspended senior Michael Floyd.
“We expect big things from the Fighting Irish in Brian Kelly’s second season,” Athlon Sports managing editor Mitch Light, told the SouthBend Tribune.
“With a solid skill group and an experienced defense, Notre Dame is a prime candidate to earn a BCS berth.”

Notre Dame is no longer a Catholic University. It has gone over the politically correct dark side and substituted Roman Catholicism for liberation theology which has been condemned by both John Paul II and Benedict as not Christian on any level but communism in disguise. They told the priests who were touting and teaching this to cease or be excommunicated. The priests in charge of Notre Dame have abandoned anything resembling Catholicism in favor of liberalism represented and coded in liberation theology. Notre Dame has lost its Catholic identity. Don't be fooled.

The real Irish Catholic D-1 football school is BC. Masachusetts is 24% Irish according to Irish Central. Nevertheless, congrats to Brian Kelly for bringing ND out of the "dumpster". BC is stagnating under Spaziani and it only portends to get much worse. Herzlich's heart is gone.
