Thanks clevelander, I agree, Bythebay your time is up. As Niall asked you some weeks ago please buzz off this site. Your constant commenting on every story differentiating between Ireland (ROI) and Northern Ireland is so old and shows your bigotry. This is my call to all other regular readers to ask Byethebay to buzz off because she never has anything constructive or sensible to say.

Keane is bordering on sociopath! He should never be considered a sportsman! It's a game Roy!

Trapattoni might want to worry less about Roy Keane and reflect on Ireland's Eurp 2012 performance...or lack there of. What does Trapp expect now?? Kudos for a complete dud of a performance by the irish?? Roy Keane is so right on the mark!

No-one with a brain cell can call Roy Keane useless. He was a great player - passionate and determined, and if Ireland had eleven Roy Keanes they'd win everything. Well, unless all eleven got sent off...

Will someone please teach the Irish a new song? They sound like a broken CD player, eternally regurgitating The Fields of Athenry. It's horrible.

Sure Roy, admit you were a disaster as a manager and also an extremely difficult player. Your time is gone, off you go.

I'm sure Keane will be shocked by the use of that language. He's really soft at heart.

Judgment should be reserved until after the Italia game. Keane played with a lot of enthusiasm which is obvious right now that the Irish play on the pitch does not have. Without the luck of the draw obtaining Estonia in the second place playoff, they were done. They could have drawn Portugal. First Croatia and then Spain exploited major weaknesses. Italy will do the same. Against Croatia, Robbie Boy was used on defense with one striker forward. He was worn out and withdrawn in the 74th minute. Either Trap gets an offense or he has to go. Italy threw away his system and that's why he no longer is there. His defensive coaching is excellent. However, you can't win if you don't score. During qualification, 0-0 aainst both Russia and Slovakia got them into the tournament. Sorry, you can't do that on a major stage and the Irish are paying the price with age a definitely factor. Roy Keane wants the job. Give it to him.

bfd When Roy Keane played he was a hard worker, on the field and during training. In a game he left it all on the field; it is hard for an athlete like him to understand anything less. Why do so many losers hate the great ones?

Roy Keanes' performance was his typical "stand around the box and do FA". He was useless, as were a lot of the team. He's well beyond his "best before date". Leave him in the states with his tarty mott, Beckham and the rest of his "couldn't get a game in a proper league" cronies. Ireland put out a load of rubbish team. I'm surprised that Trapattoni had the bottle to accept the position knowing that he would be dealing with the likes of Keane and some, but not all, of the other useless idiots.
