A new jersey to debut for Notre Dame this weekend
After coming under fire a few weeks ago for slower speed and defense, the Fighting Irish are to unveil a much lighter uniform this coming weekend.
On Monday the Notre Dame squad announced a 30 percent lighter uniform hoping it will do the winning trick.
In conjunction with adidas, the team said the Irish will now wear a “Techfit” jersey for their game against Western Michigan.
A press release described the outfits as "a ground-breaking compression fit" and weight "30 percent lighter than standard football jerseys."
As for the redesign the press release had the following to say, "A streamlined fit, new fabric, reduced seams and an ultra-lightweight name and numbering system. In addition, the Notre Dame TECHFIT jersey keeps players cool with integrated ventilation zones and moisture management fabric."
Notre Dame however won’t be alone with their super “high-speed” jerseys.
Tennessee, Michigan, Louisville, Texas A&M, UCLA and Cincinnati will also try out the new “Techfit” jerseys in October.
It is possible that the new jersey’s will put Notre Dame back to their winning ways?
