Notre Dame could play Navy at Croke Park in Dublin in 2012
Croke Park could welcome back Navy and Notre Dame to renew their rivalry on Irish soil in 2012, sixteen years after their first encounter at GAA headquarters.
The Irish won that game 54-27, but there is every possibility that Navy could exert revenge for that defeat in Ireland in two years time.
Associate Athletic Director for Sports Information Scott Strasemeier from Navy told The Irish Examiner newspaper as much on Monday.
"There are still a number of details that need to be worked out before the game is finalized," he said.
"We would like to make it work, but are still working out logistics."
It is believed that while Croke Park would welcome the chance to host the game, the preference would be for an NFL game as opposed to a college game.
For the past few years the NFL has been successful in holding games in London that have raised the international profile of the game.
