There was this group,'back in the day',from Liverpool(Large Irish population),but as Irish as most of U2, that had a few hits.Maybe you have heard of them.....The Beatles.

I think "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinead O'Connor definitely deserves to included in that list. "Nothing Compares 2 U" spent 11 weeks as the #1 hit song on the Irish singles chart. It also won the 1990 MTV Best Music Video Award and went #1 in the UK and a dozen other counties around the world.

There are definitely at least 10 great Irish rock and roll songs and they are all by the Pogues (or Shane McGowan) - so they're not even listed here.
