Five best pubs to stay away from on St.Patrick's Day. I won't mention two in Los Angeles area because twice a year boozers might go and ruin it for the rest of us, who won't be there anyway.

Tough to narrow things down to one pub in each city. New York's got sooooo many. For the legit experience, you have to head way uptown to Woodlawn, straddling the border of the Bronx and Yonkers. There you have Rory Dolan's, Behan's, The Rambling House and others. Upstate, the Inn at Leeds, formerly the Leeds Irish Center, is a great bar as is Furlong's and the Blackthorne Inn, both in East Durham. Murphy's and McGillicuddy's in New Paltz are a good time too.

There are far better Irish Bars in Chicago than Fado, plus I think there charging in, Better Irish bars are Celtic Crossing on Chicago Avenue, Mystic celt on Southport and Galway Arms on Clark street.

There is also a very Irish Pub in Pensacola, Florida called McGuire's Irish Pub. Believe me, it should be on your list. They will be celebrating this weekend w/a 10K race on Saturday morning and then will follow with a weekend party. I am sure you can look it up online.
