    There are places where the Hudson looks almost like a lake. It really widens out here. That land in the distance with the power plant is on the train side of the river - a significant bend here.

    There are many little lakes and ponds to see from the inland side of the train.

    Speeding by makes a blurry picture. With the naked eye you can see a shell of a building of some sort on this island in the Hudson River.

    The light coming through the thick glass windows on the train plays havoc with the light in the photographs. Sometimes it makes the pictures more interesting. Sometimes it just emphasizes that the windows need a good wash.

    Always amazes me how undeveloped the west side of the Hudson is.

    Plenty of marshy areas along the river with platforms to allow people to fish (I'm guessing). There are also many duck blinds, although I've never seen a hunter in any of them.
