Claire Smyth lives in Bangor, Northern Ireland, a seaside town quite close to the North's capital, Belfast. She's a 32-year-old married mother of a five-year-old son.

Her main passion in life is collecting kitsch items from the 50s and 60s, and her house is an Aladdin's Cave of trinkets and treasures. She likes collecting taxidermied animals and 70s mass-produced art of sultry gypsy women lounging around in trees.

Claire has been blogging since 2009 and curates TheWorldofKitsch.com, an award-winning lifestyle blog which features innovative products as well as the weird and wonderful items she buys for her home.

A real home bird, Claire lived in Bangor from she was two years old, and after living in Belfast city for a few years, returned to live by the sea so her son could attend the same primary school she went to. Claire even has a tattoo of the lighthouse that perches on Bangor's pier, such is her love of her home.

As well as blogging, Claire has a column in a UK female orientated tattoo glossy magazine called Things & Ink. She can be found talking nonsense about tv & politics on her own account @Rudedoodle.
