From WB Yeats’ summer holidays in Sligo to his spells in London this new interactive timeline will allow you to explore the life and works of the literary giant in celebration of the 150th anniversary of his birth, today.

This interactive timeline maps the many places of significance for Yeats during his lifetime, from his birth in Dublin to his childhood summer holidays in Sligo and his many spells in London, England. Like many great poets, Yeats spent a lot of time travelling and this timeline really gives you an insight into the places that mattered to him.

William Butler Yeats was born in the Sandymount area of Dublin in 1865 and this June the 13th marks the 150th anniversary of his birth. W.B. Yeats is one of Ireland’s most famous laureates and his works are still celebrated the world over. A well-educated and travelled man, Yeats often spoke of his affection for county Sligo, where he spent much of his childhood days. Appropriate then that his burial place is also in the county.
