Newspapers are an excellent source of information when tracing your ancestors in Ireland. They show how local and national events were reported at the time, giving you a vivid picture of what life would have been like for your ancestors. As well as that, the Irish newspaper collection on Findmypast dates back to the 1700s, a time that many other records do not exist for. You can search the database of newspapers by name, date, county, newspaper title and article type so you can pinpoint stories of interest quickly and easily.
