General Information The name D’Isney was first used by family members living in the small dairy town of Isigny on the coast of Normandy in France. They later brought the name to England. The name is first recorded in Lincolnshire, where the family was granted land by Duke William of Normandy for the family’s service at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
