A group of top foodies from Ireland and Britain have included a pint of the black stuff at the Stag’s Head in their top 50 ‘must eat’ list.

Six experts including tv chef Simon Rimmer and restaurant critic Giles Coren compiled The Kenwood Food Lover’s Bucket List, which lists 50 must do foodie experiences.

The Stag’s Head pulled ahead of other Dublin pubs for its “perfect pint pouring capabilities” and overall hospitality to customers.

The Daily Edge quoted the bucket list’s description, “The Stag’s Head in Dublin is centuries old and whilst once a stomping ground for James Joyce, and used in many a movie, they also know how to pour the perfect Guinness for punters to enjoy.”

Director of Marketing for Kenwood, Mark Swift said, “We’ve pulled together the food lover’s bucket list to help people experience the very best that food has to offer both here and abroad, and the Stag’s Head has a very well deserved place on the list.”

The Stag’s Head is a little treasure accessed through a narrow passage off of Dame Street where a mosaic on the sidewalk points you in the right direction to the pub. Once you see the stuffed stag’s head, you know you have found it. Popular with Dubliners and visitors, the Stag’s Head is a Victorian bar with stained glass windows and red Connemara marble along the bar and live Irish music.

The Stag’s Head was the only Irish entry on the list. Other spots that made the list were croissants and coffee at a Parisian cafe and breakfast at the Wolseley in London.

The list also covers food delicious on their own, must try recipes, and foodie experiences such as making soup or homemade ice cream.
