The Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut will play host to one of the worldwide exhibits that will mark the centenary of the Titanic’s sinking in 1912. Scheduled to open on April 12, 2012, ‘Titanic - 12,450 Feet Below’ will feature interactive touch-screens in the exhibit.

The Belfast Telegraph reports that the new Connecticut exhibition is the workings of Dr Robert Ballard, whose expedition first discovered the shipwreck in 1985, and work by Tim Delaney, who is a former image man for the Walt Disney company.

The new exhibition is scheduled to open about two weeks after the Titanic exhibit in Belfast, which has already pre-sold a staggering 35,000 tickets for tours. The exhibit in Belfast is at the site where the Titanic first touched water in 1911.

At the Connecticut exhibition, visitors will be able to view what the luxury liner looked like before it met its fate, and view the worldwide headlines its untimely sinking spurred. They will also have the opportunity to read about the myths and legends that stemmed from the sinking.

Delaney said the exhibit "takes people 14,500 feet below to the ocean floor, a whole new world and mysterious, awesome place to be. There, visitors can better appreciate the fascinating human drama and incredible technical story of how Dr Robert Ballard found Titanic, as well as the powerful impact on the crew's and public's imaginations."

The Connecticut exhibit should be moved to Belfast. They are in much greater need of tourism dollars than Connecticut!
Will either exhibition travel?
Oh get off of it Murph46
A celebration of more Irish being killed?
