sirpeter: you 'ment'/'then'...would you like to explain...?Second thoughts don't bother...If you are going to be insulting it's probabaly best to get the spelling right dummy...My comment was not directed to you so if you dont want to be vicariously offended don't read other peoples online conversations...'I can see her big fat face mouthing at the keyboard...Haughty and Hostile and thicker than her fat ass is what this witch is I think I'll have some fun with this trailer trash' That's clearly a threat...You don't know what I look like or anything about me...Are you delusional...?Do you have a problem with women being smarter than you...Actually I think a single cell organism would be smarter than you...You are obviously stalking/harassing me around these message boards so I will now have to act on the report made to the Garda and make a formal complaint about your bizarre behaviour...! You had your chawnce...!
I ment 3&5 for those who are pedantic.
Paul Kavanagh you are an idiot.Your use of the word experts is a bit vague isn't it?According to the World Health Organization (WHO)France and the U.S.A have the highest rate of depression in the world.21 percent of people in France and 19.2 percent of people in the U.S.A As for the benign Irish weather been a little wet, only a fool would not consider that GOOD luck when you consider the extremes and destruction it causes in MOST parts of the world.Number 3&4 is a damned insult on every Irish person to class it as unlucky and to place these tragic events along with frivolous music acts. Are you trying to be funny? Would Americans and their murdered loved ones like to see 9/11 placed in your stupid list.Or classing American soldiers who are dying at this very moment as unlucky. You are a staff writer on IC.I am not amused and the Irish were NEVER happy go lucky. That's the portrayal of Hollywood movie bulls*it.
@themurphia.Quote"Clearly Irish people need to learn how to construct arguments without resorting to personal insults"Unquote.Clearly YOU need to construct personal insults without resorting to insulting ALL the Irish people.I can almost see your big fat ugly face mouthing away at the keyboard.Haughty & Hostile and thicker then her fat ass is what this witch is.I think I'll have some fun with this trailer trash.
No country could pass that test !!!
What a sad man...You don't have *productive* conversations with any one...you just make condescending comments about the quality of their contributions...Why would I want to have a 'conversation' with you...?Your only interest as here is having the last word...I agreed with you on the Irish language but only after you had got other contributors backs up with your superior confrontational responses to their comments...I don't know why you've got a bee in your bonnet about what I write or what right you think you have to call me a hypocrite...Clearly Irish people need to learn how to construct arguments without resorting to personal insults...it seems to be a common trait...Yes I'm sure IC would be interested to hear your views on how it could *improve* if you expressed them in a less haughty hostile way...Btw if there was an HMQ site I would not dream of reading it...!
You are a hypocrite. I only directed my comments to you when you failed to understand what my criticism was about; it’s hilarious that you STILL don’t get it. Now it is best that we wrap this up and hopefully we can have a more productive conversation on another topic. After all you have agreed with my comments previously. Finally, I think you’re under the impression that I have a blog or something; I can assure you that I don’t. I like the idea of Irish Central, there are things that they do very well, however there are also things they don’t. I want them to improve those things so that it is a website worthy to bear the title ‘Irish Central’.
I've read your posts...you really could bore for Ireland...You are clearly not happy with this site so why read it...?Simples...!I think you need to address your comments about the content of IC to the Editor not me...you may even know him...?I'm sure he would be happy to listen to your...ahem... constructive criticism...I have said why I like this site it does not require contributers to be sychophants and Oh yeah and I like the IC eye candy...!other than that I am not going to repeat myself...I have no desire to continue this converstion we don't see eye to eye I can live with that...!That's a wrap...!Byeeee!
You say that ‘this site is aimed at the Diaspora...it is not an Irish paper...it therefore has a wide range of topics items covering a variety of issues..?’ You’re right themurphia, it ranges from bad Irish news to US news to ‘How To Swear With An Irish Accent’. Clearly you are happy that an Irish website publishes so much nonsense about the Irish, and so often. It is very funny, because if for example ‘HM the Queen’s website’ published an article like ‘how to swear with an Irish accent’, IC would be quick to criticize it. Now a joke is a joke, however when articles like that are pushed to the fore and news of Irish achievements are sidelined and hardly covered, that is ridiculous. You don’t agree with me and that’s fine, but please don’t resort to name calling. Dearc ort féin.
Are you serious? Norris had ended his campaign before the Moytirra Vent field story, so how on earth could it distract from the Norris story? Many of the articles on IC regarding the demise of Norris’s campaign were taken from Irish newspaper websites including the Irish Times; a paper you seem to have an unusual dislike for.
This site is aimed at the Diaspora...it is not an Irish paper...it therefore has a wide range of topics items covering a variety of issues serious and not so serious...I would have thought Dorrisgate was of interest to the Irish people but it wasn't mentioned in the National paper of record until IC broke it...Perhaps the 'discovery' was an opportunity to distract attention form the real story...?So put your own house/style in order before giving out about an online paper where a disparity of views are welcome not just those that suck up to the blog bullies...Let's leave it at that...!
Yes themurphia, it was A news story but it was not put to the fore as a MAIN story. Furthermore, if you read my comments on the article that was posted you will see how much IC missed; they didn’t even post pictures of the find even though plenty were on the internet. Furthermore, you will note that many posters agreed that IC had missed the importance of the story. Irish Central has written so many negative (often misleading articles) about Ireland one would have thought they would jump at the chance to balance them with some genuinely positive news; news that all Irish people could be proud of –but it didn’t. Instead IC seems to try and balance the bad news stories with nonsense like the above; or repeat articles; or news from the US.
You're right, you don't need to be a 'licka*se to have your comments published'...or indeed to have good manners.
Oh dear, you still couldn’t answer the question. Yes themurphia it was A news story but it was not put to the fore as a MAIN story. The other thing I like about IC is that you dont have to be a licka*se to have your comments published...!
