Reconnect to the the west of Ireland and engage in the ancient art of weaving
‘The Love in Loom’ project in County Mayo seeks to help people connect and reconnect with the West of Ireland's past, present, and future.
The story of the Foxford Woollen Mills and its inspirational foundress Agnes Morragh-Bernard is cherished by its local community and shared with others in the Foxford Woollen Mills Visitor Centre. She had a vision of a better future for the people of Foxford and with her determination and passion to create a better future she created an industry based on her love for humanity.
“The Love in Loom” project invites you to weave a thread on our special Gathering 2013 hand loom.
The threads in the loom run vertically and horizontally representing the North South East and West of Ireland and of course the World.
Organizers of the project said, “Together lets weave a piece of history and create a cloth made with love that will become an heirloom for generations to come.
"Be part of our Gathering in beautiful County Mayo and participate through weave in the historical Foxford Woollen Mills, County Mayo. Make your mark and sing our song to ‘Love in Loom’ please come along."
