After thousands of nominations, via Twitter, Facebook and comments, the IrishCentral readers have spoken and voted Annie Bailey's Irish Pub, in Downtown Lancaster Pennsylvania the best spot in the United States to drink a pint of Guinness.

Less than a month ago we reached out our readers and asked them to suggest where to get the best pint of Guinness in America. The response was phenomenal and Annie Bailey's was certainly the outstanding winner. In second place came Celtic Ray, in Florida and in third spot is The Dubliner in Washington.

The competition asked our readers to check out how Guinness was being treated, 250 years after its invention, in the United States. Our spies were asked to keep an eye on who was drinking the black stuff, to check if the auld fellas at the bar approved of their pints, keep an eye on the head, make sure the bar used a Guinness branded glass and of course most essentially that the pint is pulled correctly.

Guinness is truly something that the Irish are deeply proud of as an international commodity and happily it is one of the most popular drinks worldwide with 10 million glasses sold per day in over 150 countries.

So congratulations to Annie Bailey's you are officially IrishCentral's best spot to grab a pint of Guinness in the United States. That is of course unless anyone disagrees.

'Ave ye teried O'Neill's o Liverpool in Richmond, VA? Ye mey wont ta send me o stout guiness from Annie's Bailey's Isish Pub te compare///
OUTSTANDING SELECTION!!! Annie Bailey's really is the best!
Smithwick's is utterly vile. Who cares where it's made? And Borderboy is right about the pint still settling. Sacrilege.
There is NO "best" Guinness in the US, only in Ireland can you get the best!!
Guinness is owned by Diageo an international conglomerate, isn't it? How much pride do you want to have in that? I also understand that Smithwick's which has been made in Kilkenny since Columbus sailed the ocean blue will now be made in Uganda or some other sort of Irish place. True? I mean the part about the Kilkenny brewery being no longer where Smithwick's is made.
Your photo shows a pint being drunk while it is still settling! Hope this is not one of the judges who couldn't wait for the full clerical collar to form over the black stuff before gulping it down.
