I loved in Ireland(Clonmel) for about one year in 2012. The home we rented was immaculate, however the utilitiesi.e. trash pickup and lawn care was sub par. In general prices for rental (3 bedrooms,3 baths(2 en suite) an office, dining room lge kitchen and sep. laundry room) were quite reasonable and I loved my stay there.
It could and it does happen everywhere in the world. "Buyer or Renter beware." @Annie, if you had looked at it carefully, wouldn't you have noticed that it wasn't clean? It couldn't have gotten that dirty in a week and a half. Guess you didn't do much of a "white glove" inspection.
STEVENSTAR - Housing is not cheap in America either. Your comment was kind of rude. There is also a young lady from England and a young man from Ireland in the mix there as well. The young lady who wrote the article was not happy about the way the house was left by the last tenants, however she ended on a positive note. Did you read why she moved to Ireland? I don't understand why your post was so negative. Life is too short to be negative. God bless you, sir.
This could be anywhere, yes. Comment above is kinda rude.
And why is this news?
This is not an interesting story, or a particularly Irish one. This could happen anywhere in the world.
It`s disgraceful that a landlord can take advantage of these young and inexperienced first time renters and have them move into such a filthy apartment. Is it legal?
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! WHAT AMERICANS NEED TO REALISE WHEN THEY COME OVER HERE THE COST OF LIVING HERE IS STILL QUIET HIGH HERE RENTS AND PROPERTY IS STILL QUIET EXPENSIVE... YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD AND LIVE IN A DUMP IF YOU DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR A NICE PROPERTY.. DUBLIN HAS SOME AMAZING PROPERTY AND HOMES ITS JUST ASHAME THEY COULDNT AFFORD IT.. MAYBE THINK TWICE THE NEXT TIME BEFORE YOU COME OVER HERE..
