The best times I have had traveling, not just in Ireland, but Wales, Scotland and England, have all been due to my staying in bed and breakfasts, hostels and even a castle I just happened upon because I took a notion to motor up an "uncharted" dirt road! I have met wonderful people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures. "Tourist traps" certainly do NOT present an accurate picture of ANY country's bests assets.
Well that's pretty stupid. You have stories on every subject except the headline. Where the H is the story on the al qaida threat to Obama?
Wait till you see the pictures of Tory Islanders led by the King of Patsy marching down the hill on Easter Sunday
Oh, you lucky girl KathyCallahan! It's sounds magnificent! Glad you had a great time!
I recently returned from a two week vacation of a soulful lifetime in Ireland. I highly recommend a ferry boat ride across the Atlantic Ocean and off Donegal to Tory Island! We saw a great play SIVE by John B Keane at Dalkey Playhouse in Dublin. Ah Dalkey Castle, Tory Island artists, musicians and the King of Tory Patsy Dan Rodgers. We stayed in the Fitzpatrick Castle and Hotel...I have been around the world and the Fitzpatrick Castle, Kileeny Dublin is by far the most romantic experience...
