Truth as always stranger than fiction.
An alleged comedy about an alcoholic parish priest and subordinates is just what is needed to reinforce racist and sectarian stereotypes. Only Irish actors with a deeply entrenched post-colonial inferiority complex could actually think it's funny. But then, it's broadcast by Channel 4 - a British channel.
I understand 'Fr Ted' is one of the most popular TV shows in Ireland. No wonder the Irish people suffer from low self-esteem and an inferiority complex.
I wish they would run the series again here in the States. One of the funniest shows ever.
Ah,Craggy Island you're ever in my heart.
