An alleged comedy about an alcoholic parish priest and subordinates is just what is needed to reinforce racist and sectarian stereotypes. Only Irish actors with a deeply entrenched post-colonial inferiority complex could actually think it's funny. But then, it's broadcast by Channel 4 - a British channel.

I understand 'Fr Ted' is one of the most popular TV shows in Ireland. No wonder the Irish people suffer from low self-esteem and an inferiority complex.
