NYC: Modern Irish is quite regular as regards spelling. If you spent a couple of hours on the topic you would at least see how the spelling works. I don't know what you mean about "pronunciations".

Gaelic is a mystery to me. I can find no ryme or reason in it's spellings and pronunciations. It would be a great military code language as Navaho or Lakota. The enemy'd never figure it out. Maybe that's why the Brits attacked our use of it.
